Walk in bathtubs are made for the handicap but I love the idea of not having to climb over a tub to take a shower/bath. I constantly worry about slipping and falling in the shower but the walk in bath tubs have a built in anti slip bottom. I have family members that stay over and are truly grateful for my walk in tub, for me it killed two bird with one stone, when I got mine there weren't many different models or options, but it still serves me well, the basics were there, I don't need the fancy stuff anyway..

My dad struggled for many years when it came to baths, actually we had to spend hours talking him into doing it, the process of crawling over the tub was excruciating. The walk in tub we saw online by accident one day was a godsend, the side opens up and closes, it's a shower and a bath, brilliant, I don't miss the arguments but he's in seventh heaven now! Great page, I'm sure someone like me will find this!
